An auctioneer is moving its headquarters from Manhattan to Teaneck, having leased more than 2,500 square feet at Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ flagship Glenpointe campus.
In a news release, the landlord said Cherrystone Auctions Inc. is relocating after more than 50 years in Midtown. It’s now set to occupy 2,569 square feet at ASE’s three-building office complex at 300/400/500 Frank W. Burr Blvd., in a move that was prompted by the pandemic and its desire for a more convenient headquarters.
Newmark’s Jeff Schotz, Peter Rossi, Dan Reider, Peter Kasparian and David Simson represented both parties in the deal.
“Since its construction in the 1980s, we have continually sought to reinvent our Glenpointe campus to meet the ever-evolving needs of businesses and their employees,” said Carolina Gutierrez, manager, leasing and marketing at ASE. “With the continued challenges in bringing employees back to New York City, Glenpointe’s location just miles from Manhattan coupled with our focus on elevating the corporate experience has created an unmatched office experience for companies of all sizes. We welcome Cherrystone Auctions to Glenpointe and look forward to building our relationship with their team as they experience all that Glenpointe has to offer.”
In announcing the deal, ASE said the philatelic auctioneer brings more than $30 million worth of stamps and postal history to market yearly. Its new home is 12 miles from Midtown, part of a mixed-use campus that also includes hotels and retail space in addition to its newly upgraded 670,000 square feet of office space.
Cherrystone also hopes to host live and virtual auctions out of their new space, leading it to prioritize accessibility in its office search, ASE said. Glenpointe, which sits at the nexus of interstates 80 and 95, provides easy access to area highways and transportation hubs.
“After over 50 years in Midtown Manhattan, we realized that a northern New Jersey location such as Glenpointe, would actually give us greater access to our clients,” said Josh Buchsbayew, vice president at Cherrystone Auctions. “Easily reached from virtually anywhere in the Tri-State Area, its close proximity to area airports and several on-site hotel options really made Glenpointe the ideal choice for our business.”
