Avison Young has added a longtime industry professional to its New Jersey office to spearhead a series of growth initiatives in the market.

The firm announced Monday that Rick Zack has joined its team as its new director of real estate management services. In his new role, he will be tasked with overseeing business development for the company’s asset and property management business throughout New Jersey, while directing the growth of its real estate development asset services on behalf of institutional owners and local investors.
“We are thrilled to have Rick join our growing team,” said Jeffrey L. Heller, an Avison Young principal and the managing director of its New Jersey offices. “Rick is a highly respected professional and industry leader who aligns perfectly with our collaborative culture. His years of property management and business development skills will support our growth initiatives as we continue to expand our property management service offerings across the region.”
Zack brings more than 20 years of property management experience across most major real estate asset classes, including financial reporting proficiency combined with a full knowledge of construction operations and project management practices, according to a news release. He most recently served as a regional vice president with CIM Group LP, starting in 2018.
Prior to that, Zack spent almost 18 years with Advance Realty, where he oversaw the property management and construction operations of a portfolio with more than 4 million square feet in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.
Zack holds a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and a real property administrator and facilities management administrator designation from the Building Owners and Managers Institute International, the news release said. He also holds designations from the Institute of Real Estate Management, including Certified Property Manager, Accredited Commercial Manager and Accredited Residential Manager.
Additionally, Zack holds memberships in both BOMA New Jersey and IREM New York.
