A fast-growing cookie franchise has leased nearly 2,000 square feet of retail space in Middlesex County, in one of several first-quarter transactions by Azarian Realty Co.
According to the firm, Crumbl Cookies will occupy 1,794 square feet at The Shoppes at North Brunswick, a 147,055-square-foot property along Route 1 in North Brunswick. It will be among the newest locations for a business that is known for its rotating cookie menu, while bringing a new food service tenant to the Azarian-owned upscale retail center.
Kevin Pelio and James Azarian represented ownership, while Jerry Johnson of Bennett Williams Commercial represented the tenant.
Azarian also negotiated a first-quarter lease at Pine Brook Plaza in the Pine Brook section of Montville, where Guerriero Gelato committed to 900 square feet. Garibaldi Masi of Progressive Realty Group represented the tenant, which has existing locations in Caldwell and Montclair and has picked the Route 46 complex for its newest store.
A second recent lease at Pine Brook Plaza, negotiated by Pelio, brought Chai Pani to a 900-square-foot space at the property. The site is the second location for the Indian restaurant and brings the center to full occupancy.
Also in January, Azarian leased 1,140 square feet at Jefferson Township’s Milton Shopping Plaza to Nick’s Hope, a charitable organization that provides free clothing to those in need and operates as a thrift store, according to a news release. The store is now open.
“We are excited to partner with Nick’s Hope and give back to the community,” said Azarian, who represented both parties. “This storefront will allow the philanthropic organization to expand its efforts.”
Azarian’s other Q1 transactions include a 1,660-square-foot lease at Milton Shopping Plaza by Smoke Ridge Supplies, which is opening its first brick-and-mortar location. Pelio brokered the deal.
