A boutique bakery is relocating within Bergen County after agreeing to lease more than 2,500 square feet in Englewood, according to brokers with NAI James E. Hanson.
The real estate services firm represented both parties in the transaction at 28-46 South Dean St., where Chic Sugars LLC is taking 2,506 square feet. The business, founded in 2009 in Fort Lee by baker and cake designer Erika Oldham, had sought to expand its operations by moving to a larger, more highly trafficked location that still enabled it to serve its clientele in northern New Jersey and New York City.
NAI Hanson’s Anthony Cassano and Ronald Fotiu completed the deal at the two-story, 41,000-square-foot building. They noted that the new location, which has retail and office space, has 315 feet of frontage along one of Englewood’s busiest streets.
“Increased visibility and flexibility remain among the top priorities for retail and office businesses, trends that have only accelerated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Cassano said. “28-46 South Dean Street meets both criteria, which make it an ideal destination for retail and office tenants to enhance their market position as they seek to engage prospective customers in the local community. We were pleased to leverage our deep market expertise to find another quality tenant for this property while helping to bring a highly reputable small business to the area.”
Anchored by New York Sports Club, which occupies the property’s entire second floor, the building also has an attached 435-space indoor parking garage. Cassano and Fotiu have now completed three leases at the building, having also helped lure Tiger Schulmann Martial Arts and Vera’s Bridal in 2019.
NAI Hanson also serves as its property manager.
