Bergman Real Estate Group has promoted Brian Rand to chief investment officer, announcing the move less than a year and a half after his arrival at the Woodbridge-based firm.
Rand, previously director of acquisitions, will continue to be responsible for spearheading the company’s acquisitions activity and expanding its portfolio across asset classes such as industrial, multifamily, office and retail. He joined Bergman in October 2022.
“Brian has proven to be an invaluable addition to the Bergman team, driving our growth and effectively leading efforts to diversify our portfolio,” said Michael Bergman, president of Bergman Real Estate Group. “His expertise in evaluating the entire investment lifecycle of commercial properties aligns perfectly with the requirements of this new role.”
Rand is the former president and founder of Simius Holdings LLC, a boutique real estate investment company with assets throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast, according to a news release. Throughout his tenure, he actively acquired, managed and created value for assets within Simius’s portfolio, leading to outsized returns for its investors and partners.
Bergman added that Rand holds a bachelor’s in sociology and business and organizations from Cornell University and an MBA from George Washington University.
“I am excited to begin my new role at Bergman, where I’ll not only expand our portfolio but also enhance the value of our currently owned assets,” Rand said. “The Bergman team’s impressive business conduct continues to impress me, and I am enthusiastic about assuming more of a leadership role in guiding these practices.”
