Boot Barn has found its first location in Somerset County after taking space at a Bridgewater retail property, according to a leasing team with Levin Management Corp.
The national western apparel chain, which will occupy 14,200 square feet at the Somerset Shopping Center, joins a long list of other tenants at the Route 206 property, LMC said. They include newly opened operators Strand Salon Studios and Fred Astaire Dance Studios as well as Style Brow Bar, which also recently signed a lease at the 219,000-square-foot complex.
LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Kelty represented ownership in the deal with Boot Barn, while Mike Horne and Steven Winters of RIPCO Real Estate represented the tenant.
“Boot Barn is a category-leading apparel brand and one that is aggressively expanding its footprint in key retail markets,” Kelty said. “The Western-inspired fashion aesthetic is experiencing a major resurgence, and Boot Barn is a great addition to Somerset Shopping Center. This latest addition is one that reinforces the property’s enviable position as a top choice for best-in-class tenants.”
LMC announced the deal while noting that Boot Barn, founded in 1978, has since become the country’s leading lifestyle retailer of western and work-related footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and children. Its offerings include cowboy boots, work boots, western-inspired fashion and outdoor gear, while the chain currently operates more than 420 stores in 46 states, with a growth goal of 900 stores by fiscal year 2030.
The leasing and management team, which is marketing space availabilities at Somerset Shopping Center ranging from 4,500 to 22,183 square feet, said it has other high-profile leases in the works. That will add to a tenant mix that also includes Barnes & Noble, Gap Factory, Fortunoff Backyard Store, Liquor Cave, Norman’s Hallmark and others, all of which benefit from the roughly 72,000 vehicles that pass the property daily and 1.2 million visitors per year, according to Placer.ai data.
