The site of the distinctive Jasna Polana Golf Club in Princeton is on the market for sale, in a newly announced offering by Cushman & Wakefield.
Located at 4519 Province Line Road, the 18-hole private golf course and its 46,000-square-foot clubhouse are part of a 222-acre property just off Route 206. Cushman’s Matt Davis, Andy Merin, Gary Gabriel, David Bernhaut and Ryan Dowd are leading marketing efforts on behalf of the seller, with plans to accept bids for the property on Oct. 25
“We have already received immense interest in the distinguished Jasna Polana Golf Club from a diverse group of investors, including golf course owners and operators, residential developers, hospitality groups and high-net worth individuals,” said Davis, senior director and platform leader for Cushman & Wakefield’s land advisory group, adding that the team has already signed more than 100 confidentiality agreements with prospective buyers.
Jasna Polana, a Polish phrase generally translating to Bright Meadow, was built as a private residence in 1975 by renowned architect Wallace Harrison, C&W said. The modern, multilevel clubhouse includes a travertine room, dining facilities, an oak room, a wine cellar and locker rooms, while the upper level features a 2,500-square-foot one-bedroom suite with a library, a private wet room, a marble jacuzzi and a sauna.
The property also benefits from on-site pro shops, a gated entrance with a fountain, an outdoor patio, a tennis court, event space and a garden with a reflecting pool, according to a news release. Other features include a practice putting green, a driving range, a short game practice area, private parking and two private lodges that offer 16 bedrooms for overnight accommodations.
Designed by legendary architect Gary Player, the course has meticulously manicured fairways, challenging greens and picturesque landscapes, the brokers added, providing members an exclusive and high-quality golfing experience.
“Our team’s exceptional ability to navigate intricate sales processes across a range of asset types, including the successful sale of four golf courses in this region prior to the pandemic, makes us well-positioned to market the Jasna Polana Golf Club for sale,” said Merin, executive vice chairman with C&W. “This property is a staple in the Princeton community and it’s incredible to witness the diverse interest in this cherished asset, which can continue to operate under new ownership as-is or be repositioned for other uses.”
