A shipping and logistics company has leased more than 160,000 square feet across two buildings at Hugo Neu’s Kearny Point Industrial Park, brokers with CBRE announced Friday.
The tenant, Global Courier Express, is relocating and expanding from Linden to the sprawling campus off Route 1&9. Its new spaces include 96,375 square feet at 205 Campus Drive and 63,902 square feet at 20 Basin Drive, CBRE said, noting that the firm’s services include express courier, transshipping, freight service, warehousing and cross-border e-commerce consultation.
CBRE’s Kevin Dudley, Nicholas Klacik, Chad Hillyer and Kate Granahan represented ownership, while Jimo Liu with Avison Young represented GCE.
“The new commitments at Kearny Point Industrial Park follow the recent improvements underway at the complex, while Global Courier Express was particularly attracted to the facility’s proximity to Port Newark-Elizabeth,” Klacik said. “We are thrilled to have GCE expand to occupy our two remaining largest and available properties on the campus.”
In a news release, the brokerage team noted that Kearny Point sits between Jersey City and Newark and at the confluence of the Hackensack and Passaic rivers. In addition to the nearby ports, the property offers easy access to Routes 1&9, the New Jersey Turnpike, Newark Liberty International Airport, the Holland and Lincoln tunnels and the George Washington Bridge.
