A well-known broker in the state has joined CBRE as a senior vice president in its central New Jersey office, the real estate services firm said Monday.
In a news release, CBRE said it hired Jonathan Meisel as part of the brokerage team in the firm’s East Brunswick office, pointing to his nearly 30 years of industry experience. He has held senior-level positions at both JLL and Cushman & Wakefield.
“We are thrilled that Jon has chosen to join our firm in New Jersey,” said Jeff Hipschman, senior managing director with CBRE in New Jersey. “In his new role, Jon will be working closely with Joe Sarno and our central New Jersey office leasing colleagues; he will also apply his industry-leading technical expertise to our local and national data center services team.
“Jon’s move to CBRE further advances our focus on market-leading talent supported by the most comprehensive platform in our industry, to ensure distinct advantage for our clients.”
Meisel joins CBRE after 13 years at JLL, where he was a founding partner of its New Jersey office, the news release said. During his tenure at JLL, he served as the market leader and, more recently, as the head of JLL’s New Jersey agency group.
While with JLL, he completed more than 10 million square feet of leasing transactions, CBRE said. Meisel is also a certified mechanical engineer who led the eastern team of JLL’s data center practice group, completing major critical facility transactions on behalf of major corporate data center occupiers.
