A global hotel chain has acquired a 2.6-acre land parcel in the Somerset section of Franklin, brokers with The Goldstein Group announced Monday.
According to a news release, Choice Hotels International Inc. paid an undisclosed sum for the property at 1860 Easton Ave. Brokers noted that the site is next to a QuickChek gas and convenience store and The Bristal Assisted Living facility, while the area is home to other hotels such as Hampton Inn, Double Tree by Hilton, Comfort Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Sonesta Suites, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn and Suites.
“The Easton Avenue and Interstate 287 corridor is known for the many hotels that are in the area,” The Goldstein Group’s Marc Palestina said. “Choice had been targeting the area to add a hotel and this site fit their requirements.”
Palestina, a vice president with the firm, and President Chuck Lanyard represented both the seller, Engle Burman at Somerset LLC, and the buyer. They noted that Choice Hotels is a multinational hospitality company based in North Bethesda, Maryland, and currently franchises more than 7,000 hotels in more than 40 countries and territories.
