A church has renewed the lease at its longtime home in Englewood, where it occupies more than two-thirds of a 9,000-square-foot building owned by Key Properties.
The tenant, Metro Community Church, recommitted to the 6,200-square-foot office space at 291 South Van Brunt St., the landlord announced. The congregation has occupied the building since 2012 and uses the space for its administrative offices, giving it a home just a block from Route 4 that provides quick access to the George Washington Bridge and other services.
The deal keeps the office property at full occupancy. Key Properties said it acquired the building in 1929 and gradually transitioned the single-story structure to full office use.
“We recognized the need for additional, boutique-style office space in the neighborhood, and our leasing success at 291 South Van Brunt Street has proven that point,” said Marc Schlussel, co-managing partner of the Teaneck-based firm. “Metro Community Church has been with us for five years, and we take great pride in continuing this relationship.
“We look forward to accommodating its space requirements for many years to come.”
Key Properties described the organization as a contemporary, culturally diverse Christian congregation. Since moving to the Englewood space, it has grown its presence in the building by about 30 percent.
“The entire Key Properties team is professional and responsive,” Metro Community Church Pastor Kevin Swanson said. “The firm has been highly accommodating, particularly as our space needs increased. We appreciate the opportunity to maintain our offices within Englewood, proximate to our worship space.”
