An indoor cycling operator has leased nearly 2,500 square feet at a new mixed-use property in downtown Montclair, making it the latest retail tenant to sign on with developer LCOR.
In a news release, Colliers International Group said Monday that it represented the owner in the deal with CycleBar. The operator is the seventh retailer at the development known as Valley & Bloom, which is located at 34 Valley Road.
Colliers’ Nancy Erickson, executive managing director and Kelly Bayer, associate director, serve as exclusive agents for the 20,000-square-foot, street-level retail component at Valley & Bloom. The newly completed, two-story development also includes 258 upscale apartments and 20,000 square feet of office space, which is leased to Regus and Sotheby’s.
“The popularity of mixed-use projects containing retail, residential, office and/or hospitality components in New Jersey infill locations continues to gain traction,” Erickson said in a prepared statement. “This is especially true in densely populated communities along NYC commuter rail lines. Valley & Bloom provides a benchmark example, with an attractive, rapidly evolving mix of restaurant, fitness, personal care and service tenants.”
The retailers will serve the renters and office tenants, plus hundreds of thousands of residents and employees that work within three miles of the property, Colliers said. The site is located along NJ Transit bus and rail lines.
CycleBar will join Al Sogno Italian Bistro, Clifton Savings Bank, Amazing Lash Studio, Pure Barre, Waxing the City and AT&T. Colliers is marketing two remaining units of 2,130 square feet and 2,384 square feet.
“The urban migration is creating strong momentum for quality downtown retail,” Erickson said. “Where rooftops keep going up, retail is needed and will follow along.”
