A Philadelphia-based developer is taking the wraps off its first project in New Jersey, a 320-unit luxury apartment complex along the Hudson waterfront in North Bergen.
The firm, Post Brothers, said Monday that it has kicked off leasing at its property known as The Duchess. Located at 7601 River Road, the three-tower complex features of mix of apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, offering high-end amenities and views of Manhattan.
“We like to call the residences at The Duchess ‘grown-up homes’ because the entire development is designed to meet the needs of those who rent by choice and therefore demand the type of select amenities that would normally only be found at the most upscale of condominium buildings,” Michael Pestronk, CEO and co-founder of Post Brothers, said in a prepared statement. “It starts with being able to offer one of the most sought-after panoramic views in the world, but it’s The Duchess’ bespoke details and amenities that make it unlike any residential building that’s ever been built in New Jersey.”
Post Brothers, which owns several properties in Philadelphia, said The Duchess is also the first New Jersey project for its interior designer, Paris Forino. Amenities include a water terrace with a heated pool and resort-style furniture, a veranda and a rooftop with features such as a piano bar, wine lounge and kitchen and gaming areas.
The developer also touted a modern fitness center with offerings such as a cycling studio, an in-house spa and massage and treatment rooms.
“Paris has created spaces that feel both classic and contemporary, evoking a feeling of comfort while satisfying a desire for chicness and originality,” Pestronk said.
The exterior was designed by Hoboken-based Vijay Kale Architects PC, Post Brothers said in a news release. Apartments include high-end finishes and appliances.
Post Brothers also plans to provide shuttle service to the New York Waterway ferry for residents who commute into Manhattan, the news release said. The property is also close to an NJ Transit bus stop.
