Members of the state’s design and construction community are gearing up for the 9th annual Cornhole for a Cause tournament in Morris County, a popular networking opportunity and fundraiser that will support United Way of Northern New Jersey.
Slated for May 1, the event is returning to Tranquility Farm in Chester and will build on past competitions that have raised more than $440,000 to date for local charities. Organizers aim to build on that success this year, seeking to raise $100,000 for United Way and its efforts to support so-called ALICE households that are asset-limited, income-constrained and employed and those in poverty.
“The generosity and commitment of the A/E/C community continue to inspire us,” said George Xuereb, senior vice president, resource development, with United Way of Northern New Jersey. “Events like Cornhole for a Cause help ensure that hardworking families struggling to make ends meet have access to the resources they need to achieve financial stability.”

Originally founded as a friendly game between colleagues, the tournament has evolved into a popular industry event, offering opportunities for professionals to connect while giving back.
“Beyond fundraising, this event fosters relationships that drive our industry forward,” said Bohler’s Dave Wisotsky, co-founder of the tournament. “Cornhole for a Cause has become a place where real business connections happen while making a real difference in the community.”
