A longtime leasing executive for some of the state’s top landlords has joined Cushman & Wakefield in New Jersey.
The real estate services firm said Friday that it has hired Brian Decillis as a managing director of its New Jersey brokerage operations. He will be based in C&W’s Morristown office and work in partnership with Robert Donnelly Sr. and Rob Donnelly Jr., with a focus on agency leasing, tenant representation and multimarket account work.
Decillis most recently was the vice president of leasing and asset management for Onyx Equities. He brings more than 15 years of office leasing and real estate experience and has held senior leasing and asset management positions at other firms such as Mack-Cali Realty Corp., Lefrak and The Gale Co.
“Brian’s unique blend of experience, working for major owners and developers throughout the state, is underscored by his reputation with brokers and tenants,” said Andrew Judd, managing principal and head of Cushman & Wakefield’s New Jersey region. “He will be able to apply those skills and his standing in the industry immediately to Cushman & Wakefield clients.”
During his career, he has held leasing responsibilities for more than 10 million square feet of office space in more than 50 buildings in Jersey City, Bergen County and Morris County, according to a news release. He has also worked on the strategic leasing and repositioning of assets across some of the largest portfolios in the state.
With Onyx, Decillis held joint leasing responsibilities for the firm’s 1.4 million-square-foot Bergen County office portfolio.
“Brian has been a valued member of the Onyx team, taking a leadership role with the leasing and repositioning of our Bergen County assets, and we look forward to the opportunity of working together in the future,” Onyx’s Co-Founder John Saraceno Jr. said. “We see this as an extension of the already strong relationship Onyx has with Cushman & Wakefield.”
Decillis received a bachelor’s degree in applied economics and business management from Cornell University, the news release said. He is also an active member of NAIOP New Jersey and the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.
“We are delighted that Brian has joined us,” said Donnelly Jr., executive managing director. “He will be a vital part of our team as we meet the ever-evolving needs of our clients. His diverse experience will bring immediate benefit, both to those owners that we serve and to the tenants we represent.”
