A new daycare business has leased space at a recently opened, luxury high-rise apartment building in Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor North neighborhood.
Fisher Development Associates this week announced the 4,600-square-foot commitment by Park View Academy, which will occupy the ground-floor space at the 448-unit building known as Vantage, located at 33 Park Ave. The early childhood school is slated to open in early 2019, serving both residents of the tower and the community at large.
The operator touted the center as the first collaboration between two local veterans of Hudson County child care, partners Yeon Benkowitz, owner of Lucie Goosey Toddler Enrichment in Jersey City, and Diane Branco, owner of World of Wonder daycare center and Wowkids LLC in Hoboken.
“It’s no secret Jersey City’s demographic is shifting to include more and more young families and there’s a growing need for high quality child care services,” Benkowitz said. “We’re establishing Park View Academy to help fill this demand.
“We hope to offer parents a valuable service in a state-of-the-art facility that draws on the expertise of not only two local child care professionals, but also two experienced Jersey City moms.”
The facility will feature a large play area to strongly encourage a high level of child interaction, according to a news release.
“We searched neighborhoods in downtown Jersey City for nearly three years trying to find the right location,” Benkowitz said. “We were fortunate Vantage was brought to market by Fisher Development Associates and chose the building for our debut facility because the space is beautiful. We also love the neighborhood feel and its location near the light rail and right off Marin Boulevard makes its accessible for parents.”
With floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the 45-story tower offers views of the Statue of Liberty, Liberty Harbor Marina and Manhattan skyline. Amenities include a cyber café, health club, children’s playroom and business center, along with a sixth-floor outdoor pool and amenity deck and a 45th-floor sky lounge.
Apartments range from studios to two-bedroom units and are priced from the low $2,000s.
“Park View Academy is not only a great addition to Vantage, but to the entire downtown Jersey City community,” said Brian Fisher, principal of Fisher Development Associates. “An extremely high quality and easily accessible facility such as this will unquestionably help to lessen the pressures many local parents face trying to find a safe and nurturing educational environment that’s also convenient.”
