DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin LLP has added more than a dozen new attorneys, including two that bring decades of experience in land use, commercial litigation and other areas.
Paul Kaufman and Mark Semeraro join the Paramus-based firm after leading Kaufman Semeraro & Leibman LLP, doing so alongside seven others from their former practice. Kaufman has been practicing law in the Fort Lee area since 1974 and specializes in land use and zoning matters and commercial real estate and banking law, while Semeraro brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial and complex civil litigation.
They will help bolster DeCotiis in those fields and other practice areas such as labor and employment, while extending its purview to personal injury law.
“This expansion combines a wide variety of skills and expertise across multiple practice groups that enables DeCotiis to continue to provide sophisticated and comprehensive solutions to our clients in both the public and private sectors,” Co-managing Partner Michael R. DeCotiis said. “I am incredibly proud to uphold the legacy and continued growth of the firm.”
Also joining DeCotiis are Deena B. Rosendahl, Justin D. Santagata, Scott Fahrney, Jaime R. Placek, Gregory K. Asadurian, Danielle M. Federico and Avi Meger.
“As attorneys practicing in New Jersey for over 70 combined years, we are eager to join DeCotiis to expand the resources available to our clients,” Kaufman and Semeraro said in a joint statement. “Our experience with that of DeCotiis means the continued growth of our practice areas and depth of expertise.”
With more than 100 attorneys and staff, DeCotiis said it plans to continue to grow its footprint across New Jersey, with offices in Paramus and Parsippany.
“The addition of Paul and Mark along with the seven attorneys joining the firm will contribute to DeCotiis’ long list of accomplished attorneys barred across the United States, fortifying our national presence and delivering more than exceptional solutions to complex legal problems for our clients,” said Vincent Giblin, an equity partner of the firm.
Joseph M. DeCotiis III, an associate, added: “I am honored to be a third-generation DeCotiis at DeCotiis, Fitzpatrick, Cole & Giblin LLP. The legacy of our firm is that of excellence and commitment to high-quality representation. I look forward to learning from and working alongside this new group of legal professionals.”
