A developer is set to open a new 378-unit apartment building in downtown Hackensack, marking the latest piece of the city’s fast-growing luxury housing stock.
Known as The Brick of Hackensack, the 15-story high-rise at 150 Main St. joins thousands of other newly delivered or approved rentals in the municipality, offering a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes that will officially open Dec. 16. The property by Enburg Group also features 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
“With so many thriving businesses right here in Hackensack, plus an ever-growing population of New York City commuters, we are thrilled to play such a vital role in this city’s transformation,” said James Tseng, CEO of Enburg Group. “The Brick promises to change the face of Hackensack and bring a fresh look into downtown while preserving the historic aspects that made and makes the city the epicenter of Bergen County.”
In a news release, the developer said The Brick has amenities such as a modern gym, a yoga studio and a courtyard terrace with a luxury lap pool with adjoining sundeck. Other features include a clubhouse with work-from-home options and a sky lounge with views of New York City.
Enburg Group now aims to lure renters with the added draw of downtown Hackensack’s shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, along with events such as Food Truck Fridays, the news release said. The Brick, meantime, is across the street from the Hackensack Bus Terminal, where commuters can access NJ Transit express service to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
