A meal delivery service is the newest tenant at a Piscataway industrial park after agreeing to lease more than 19,000 square feet from Denholtz Associates.
The developer and owner on Tuesday announced the deal at 147 Ethel Road West, where Healthy Meals Supreme will use the space to scale its business and serve its customers in the Northeast. Known as Piscataway Corporate Center, the two-building, 65,000-square-foot park will provide it with quick access to Interstate 287, Route 1 and other major highways.
“We recognized the need for a space that was well-located, modern and adaptable to our needs,” said Joe Martinez, Healthy Meals’ founder and chief commercial officer. “Denholtz Associates’ Piscataway Corporate Center and the industrial park at 147 Ethel Road West achieves both goals. Working directly with their leasing team, we have seamlessly negotiated a lease at the property that will enable us to meet the growing demand.”
Jamie Zimmel of Zimmel Associates represented Denholtz in the transaction.
“The continued growth of meal delivery services has placed even further strain on a limited supply of flex spaces in the central New Jersey market,” said Kristine B. Hurlbut, Denholtz’s senior vice president of leasing. “Through our robust portfolio of flex spaces in the local market, we are able to provide companies with the space they need to allow them to grow their distribution networks to efficiently deliver their in-demand products to their customers.”
In a news release, Denholtz said Martinez started Healthy Meals after he and his father were diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. The company has since teamed with executive chefs and an internationally respected endocrinologist to create culinary medicine-inspired meal plans for a variety of nutritional interests, including for chronic conditions.
Healthy Meals’ new location offers 22-foot ceiling heights, energy-efficient HVAC systems and ample parking, the news release said. The flexibility and location will provide it with the ability to increase its delivery capabilities and better serve its growing customer base.
