Construction is underway on a building that will bring another 51 luxury apartments to Orange, while redeveloping a site just north of NJ Transit rail service.
According to Avison Young, which is serving as the general contractor, the project at 751 Vose Ave. is slated for completion in about 12 months. Former NFL player Kimble Wright is developing the five-story, 74,000-square-foot building known as The Legacy, which will include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, parking, common spaces, a rooftop terrace and a fitness center.
The site is a five-minute walk from the city’s Mountain Avenue train station and just over a mile from Interstate 280.
“Leading projects with the size and complexity of The Legacy sits right at the nexus of our team’s capabilities to deliver on time and on budget,” Avison Young’s Tony Bienert said. “When Kimble engaged Avison Young, he had already gone through the extensive approvals process and was ready to start building. We partnered very closely with him and his owner’s rep team, Mills Management LLC, to identify the best strategies to successfully maximize potential areas for savings in both time and costs.”
Bienert, a director of construction management with AY, is leading the Morristown-based team, working alongside Senior Project Manager Jay Singer, project managers Jeff Bennett and Jeff Zerillo and Project Coordinator Samantha Martinez. The firm said it will orchestrate working sessions with all subcontractors on the project and review task durations and sequencing.
“It was Avison Young’s reputation in the industry that led us to partner with them to deliver The Legacy to the market,” Wright said. “We are confident that Tony and his team will help us meet our ambitious goals with this new building, which are to inspire our community to help each other and fulfill their dreams.”
