An Ohio-based developer has announced its entrance to Jersey City, detailing a 131-unit project underway in a neighborhood just south of Hoboken and west of the Holland Tunnel.
The firm, The NRP Group, said Monday that it has broken ground at 39 New York Ave. as part of a joint venture with Hoboken Brownstone Co. Located within what’s known as the Coles Street Park neighborhood, the property is slated for completion in summer 2020.
“We are thrilled to be taking this step into Jersey City, which has been undergoing such an incredible renaissance in recent years,” J. David Heller, CEO and president of The NRP Group, said in a prepared statement. “As is typical for NRP Group communities, this distinctive development will be thoughtfully designed to add a unique living experience to a vibrant neighborhood. We think the dynamic growth of Jersey City presents an ideal entry point for NRP and we look forward to deepening our presence in the market.”
March Associates Construction Inc. is the construction manager for the project.
NRP touted the property’s location, which connects Hoboken’s western border and The Jersey City Heights neighborhood. When complete, the complex will include 28 studio apartments, 79 one-bedrooms and 24 two-bedrooms, many of them offering views of Jersey City and Lower Manhattan.
