A joint venture is set to debut a new boutique apartment building in Montclair, offering residents a short walk to rail service and the town’s central business district.
The firms, Sterling Properties and Greenwood Development, announced Thursday the launch of leasing at 147 Bloomfield Ave. The development team is marketing a 46-unit building known as The Vestry to commuters, empty-nesters and the growing number of renters who have moved out of New York City in recent months.
“As one of the New York metropolitan area’s premier hubs for dining, shopping, arts and culture, Montclair has long been a destination for individuals who desire the advantages of the suburbs but want to maintain a cosmopolitan lifestyle,” said Nicholas Hollenbeck, director of sales and marketing for Sterling Properties. “The Vestry opens at a time when this paradigm is expected to expand as a result of the changing desires of renters, and we believe it is the most exciting luxury residential offering that’s ever been available in Montclair.”

The Vestry includes a mix of upscale studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, with floorplans ranging from 518 to more than 1,100 square feet, Sterling said. The building also offers amenities such as a fitness center, a dog wash and a rooftop lounge with a terrace, communal grill and pizza oven.
The developer added that residents will be a short walk from downtown Montclair’s retail and restaurant offerings and NJ Transit’s Bay Street station.
