A new Dollar General store is coming to a former Walgreens space in South Plainfield, under a 9,100-square-foot lease announced this week by Jeffery Realty.
Shane Wierks, a retail leasing specialist with Jeffery, said the dollar store chain has committed to the building at 140 South Plainfield Ave. He added that the completion of the deal has prompted the owner to begin renovations at the property, which has not seen upgrades in some 20 years.
Wierks and fellow Jeffery broker Alan Walker represented the landlord, while David Dunkelman of Soloff Realty represented Dollar General.
