Donnelly Construction has completed an overhaul of a former restaurant space in Wayne, where an upscale, indoor firing range has opened for business.
The contractor, which is based in the township, worked on behalf of Reloaderz NJ to transform the 13,814-square-foot space at 1813 Route 23 South. Previously occupied by Fuddruckers, the property required a complete demolition and rebuild of the interior, new structural steel and footings and minor cosmetic upgrades to the façade.
Donnelly worked alongside Axis Architectural Group of Englewood to carry out the project.
“We are thrilled to have been selected to build Reloaderz NJ, especially since it’s bringing new business into our hometown of Wayne,” said Chris Donnelly of Donnelly Construction. “Reloaderz NJ is one of the safest and technologically advanced firing ranges that we have ever seen. This will be a game changer for the area.”

The concept opened its doors last Saturday, drawing Wayne Mayor Christopher Vergano for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Donnelly said. Reloaderz NJ boasts a 15-lane, 25-yard climate-controlled range designed to exceed all federal and industry guidelines.
It is also equipped with a state-of-the-art target retrieval system from Action Target, according to a news release. Guests can wait their turn at the range’s lounge or can purchase a VIP experience that includes a private lounge, entrance and bathroom.
“Donnelly Construction, Axis Architectural Group and Action Target all delivered to create an upscale experience that is safe, clean, and uplifting for all of our guests and staff,” said Cheryl Nylen, the company’s CEO and president. “We pride ourselves in delivering the best customer service possible with adherence to all federal and state laws, so that everyone in our facility feels a sense of enjoyment without fear or concern.”
