A frozen foods company has joined the roster at an Edison industrial building after signing a lease for nearly 57,000 square feet, brokers with CBRE announced Thursday.
The tenant, Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods, signed a long-term lease for the only large freezer space available at 180 Raritan Center Pkwy., a 354,000-square-foot facility. Its new location provides it with easy access to the New Jersey Turnpike, offering a direct route to New York City, Newark Liberty International Airport and Port Newark-Elizabeth.
The CBRE team of Scott Belfer, Lou Belfer and Nicholas Nitti represented the landlord, New York Life. Mary Chandis of America East Real Estate represented Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods, an all-natural frozen foods company based in Elmwood Park that was founded by practicing cardiac surgeons Dr. Peter Praeger and Dr. Eric Somberg.
“Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods required freezer space in a central location to meet its very specific distribution requirements,” said Scott Belfer, senior vice president with real estate services firm. “The fully racked freezer space at 180 Raritan offers temperatures as low as -20 degrees, a unique feature in the market.”
