PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
EWMA was retained to support a construction management client who was constructing a new flight hangar on-site at a local airport. The original sewer engineering design for the hangar called for a gravity sewer and it quickly became apparent that this design was not feasible based on the location of other on-site utilities. The client could not open the new hangar and occupy the site until the sewer system was installed and approved.
EWMA joined the project team and designed a sewer pump station to replace the gravity sewer so that site operations could commence as quickly as possible. After submitting the design, our engineers provided construction oversight through the duration of the sewer pump station construction. EWMA also prepared a Treatment Works Approval (TWA) Permit for the pump station, which was submitted to the NJDEP for expedited review and was approved. The sewer pump station is currently functional and the client was able to open the new airport hangar occupy the site.
