FanDuel has opened the doors to its new office in Jersey City, where it occupies 12,000 square feet in a location that’s home to some 400 employees.
The sports betting and online gaming company, which has operated in New Jersey for nearly a decade, leases the space at an undisclosed building in the city’s acclaimed Newport section. That’s where executives joined public officials last week for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, highlighting FanDuel’s growing presence in New Jersey and the impact of the 2018 state law that legalized sports gaming.
The office is home to what FanDuel described as its industry-leading risk and trading team, among others.
“FanDuel has continually reinvested in New Jersey in recognition of the state’s smart investment in online gaming, which has focused on right-sized taxation and regulation that encourage fierce competition and maximize market size and economic development for the long term,” the company wrote in a media advisory. “As we continue to invest in New Jersey, we trust that state leaders will continue to recognize the importance of this approach.”
Those on hand for the event included FanDuel executives Mike Raffensperger and Andy Giancamilli, along with state Sen. Raj Mukherji, Jersey City Councilwoman Mira Prinz-Arey, Councilman James Solomon and Emory Edwards, president of the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce.
