The New Jersey Apartment Association has welcomed Jay Lombardo of CJ Lombardo Co. as its board president for the next two years.
Lombardo, a principal of the Hackensack-based brokerage and property management firm, was sworn into the post during the organization’s annual meeting in late January. He’ll now serve through January 2027 as the top volunteer leader of one of the state’s most influential trade associations, with several initiatives in mind.
Those include creating a mentorship program to develop the next generation of multifamily leaders in New Jersey, according to NJAA. Lombardo also plans to continue strengthening the connections between owner and vendor members within the association and support the group’s advocacy work in Trenton on behalf of a membership that owns and manages more than 240,000 apartments.

Jerry Lombardo, Jay’s father and one of NJAA’s founding members, swore in his son during the Jan. 29 event. Jay Lombardo has served on NJAA’s executive committee for the past 10 years and has been on its board of directors since 2010.
“As a member of the NJAA executive board for nearly a decade, Jay has been involved in the evolution of our association,” said David Brogan, NJAA’s executive director and CEO. “His wealth of knowledge in the multifamily industry and understanding of the family business dynamic will help build upon the legacy of previous NJAA leaders.
“Our team looks forward to working with Jay to continue the upward trajectory of the association. His leadership and expertise are sure to make a lasting impact on the NJAA and its mission.”
