A burger restaurant led by former New York Giants star Victor Cruz has leased 2,400 square feet in his hometown of Paterson, in a newly announced deal by The Goldstein Group.
Cruz, a Super Bowl-winning wide receiver, will open a Krystal Restaurants location at 211 Main St. under lease with PSA Realty Co LLC. The franchise store will also mark the Dunwoody, Georgia-based chain’s expansion to the state, offering small, square burgers that are grilled and topped with diced onions, mustard and a slice of dill pickle.
The Goldstein Group Director Chris Conway, Executive Vice President Lew Finkelstein and Vice President CJ Huter represented both parties.
“This will be the first Krystal’s Restaurant in New Jersey,” said Chuck Lanyard, The Goldstein Group’s president. “Victor Cruz brings a recognizable local name to the franchise and everyone is excited for the opening in his hometown.”
In a news release, The Goldstein Group noted that Krystal Restaurants was founded in 1932 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and currently has 300 restaurants in 10 states.
