Walker & Dunlop, a corporate sponsor of the Rutgers Center for Real Estate, has hired four students thanks in part to their participation in the Rutgers Business School program.
The additions by the real estate services firm include Aravind Kameswaran, who is joining its team as a full-time analyst in the government-sponsored enterprises underwriting department. He will be based in W&D’s Atlanta office following his graduation in May.
The company has also hired Jessenia Morales, Monali Patel and Sanjana Sure for its summer internship program in 2023, according to a news release. Morales will be assigned to the marketing department at the firm’s Bethesda, Maryland headquarters, while Patel and Sure will be assigned to the New York office, in the capital markets and investment partners departments, respectively.
“Walker & Dunlop is a firm focused on helping to ensure that students studying real estate at Rutgers are prepared to join the workforce,” said Morris A. Davis, the Paul V. Profeta Chair of Real Estate in the finance department and academic director for the Rutgers Center for Real Estate. “Walker & Dunlop is an organization committed to helping students at all stages and is an excellent company for students to begin their careers.”
Walker & Dunlop, in collaboration with the Rutgers Center for Real Estate, plans to launch a case competition this fall to provide students with an opportunity to test their academic knowledge in a real-world situation, the news release said. The case will incorporate both financial and development aspects of the business.
“Working with the Rutgers University Center for Real Estate has been extremely rewarding,” said Irelynne Estevez-Waller, Walker & Dunlop’s vice president of diversity and inclusion. “Our talent acquisition team has collaborated with the Rutgers staff and real estate clubs to identify students with a robust dedication and interest in pursuing a career in commercial real estate. We look forward to developing and launching our case competition for Rutgers real estate students as the next step in this collaboration.”
