Gibbons PC has promoted one of its real estate attorneys to the position of director, the Newark-based firm announced Friday.
In a news release, the practice said John F. Glass joined its team in 2019 as an associate with its real property group. He practices in commercial real estate law with a concentration on transactional matters, representing a broad range of clients such as closely held real estate development companies, early- to late-stage startups, state agencies, and major corporations.
Gibbons added that Glass’ practice focuses on complex real estate transactions involving commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements and multitiered loan financings across a variety of asset classes, including commercial office, health care, retail, mixed-use and industrial properties. He recently represented some of New Jersey’s leading real estate developers in securing more than $500 million in construction financing in connection with high-end residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects in Newark, Parsippany, Jersey City and Philadelphia.
Additionally, Glass recently represented a major health care startup in negotiating its headquarters lease in Brooklyn, the news release said.
“John is a great asset to our firm and our clients, and we’re thrilled to be able to recognize his achievements,” said Douglas J. Janacek, co-chair of the Gibbons real property group.
Glass graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he served as associate editor of the Journal of Health Care and Policy Law, and earned his B.A. from Boston College, the news release said. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
