A restauranteur has found space in Maplewood after acquiring a vacant retail property on Springfield Avenue, according to a listing team with The Goldstein Group.
The buyer, Wang Xing Property LLC, paid an undisclosed sum for the three-store building that previously housed the LexAnn Pharmacy. It now plans to open what the brokers described as an Asian-style restaurant, tapping into the busy retail and dining corridor around the property at 1885 Springfield Ave.
The Goldstein Group Principal Neil Goldstein and President Chuck Lanyard represented the seller, WNW Maplewood Properties LLC, while Dina Cocuzza of Coldwell Banker Realty represented the buyer.
“Springfield Avenue has started to change over the past few years with new developments along with the township improving the district with renovations,” Goldstein said. “We are thrilled we were able to work with both the seller and buyer in bringing this deal to fruition and look forward to the new restaurant that will open for business.”
Other retail users in the area include Walgreens, Advance Auto Parts, Sherwin Williams, Dunkin’, Dollar Tree, Wawa, Dollar General and The Little Gym, the firm said. The neighborhood is also home to locally owned restaurants such as Cornbread, The Sandwicheria and Avenue Pub.
