Bergman Real Estate Group has inked a 52,000-square-foot lease with a life sciences company in Parsippany, one of more than 100 transactions completed by the firm in 2017.
The lease with Diagnostica Stago, which specializes in the science of hemostasis and thrombosis, was part of a long-term renewal and expansion at 5 Century Campus. It was among the highlights touted this week by Bergman as it announced 350,000 square feet in total leasing throughout its New Jersey office portfolio last year.
All told, the leases amounted to more than $37 million in aggregate rental value, the Woodbridge-based real estate investment and management firm said. The transactions represent a mix of new long-term leases and renewals and expansions of existing tenants.
Other highlights include 25 leases at 1099 Wall Street West in Lyndhurst totaling more than 48,000 square feet, Bergman said.
“Our success in 2017 shows that the demand for suburban office space continues to strengthen in New Jersey,” said Michael Bergman, CEO and president of Bergman Real Estate Group.
“Long-term renewals are a testament to the care and attention we pay to each of our properties,” he added. “We are committed to maintaining and improving our buildings and increasing the value for our investor/partners and new and renewing tenants alike.”
Those upgrades include a capital improvement program at Century Campus, which Bergman owns in partnership with Time Equities Inc. The three-building complex features a dozen new amenities, including a state-of-the art business lounge with a staffed barista, co-working office suites, an art studio, media center, massage room and fully renovated common areas.
Several more improvements to the interior and exterior are planned for 2018.
“A positive working atmosphere, with unique perks, services and amenities is now key for companies throughout New Jersey and across the country,” Bergman said. “Tenants today are looking for more than just offices — they are looking for extra amenities which support an enhanced office environment supporting a ‘live, work and play’ lifestyle.”
The firm is also incorporating new amenities at several other properties, including lounges, shared conference rooms and bike sharing programs. At Florham Park Corporate Center, a 230,000-square-foot office complex at 25 Vreeland Road in Florham Park, the firm added a 3,600-square-foot fitness center with showers and locker rooms, a yoga studio and a lounge and game center.
“We are looking forward to the year ahead, as we continue to improve and enhance the services and amenities offered at our properties,” Bergman said.
