Hekemian & Co. is marking a year since the opening of a 254-unit luxury apartment complex in Hackensack, as it touts continued activity from renters interested in the city’s downtown.
The developer said The Current on River, located at 18 East Camden St., has enjoyed strong leasing activity since its debut at the height of the COVID-19 crisis. It’s now seeking to lure additional tenants with specials through April 30, offering six stories of upscale homes and lavish amenities, with proximity to the central business district.
Those specials include two months free on any 26-month lease, one month free with a 14-month lease for any junior one-bedroom or any fifth-floor apartment and six months free parking on the first spot with a minimum 12-month lease term.
“Over the past year, residents have found the comforts of home and the conveniences of work — both remote work and commuting — in The Current on River,” said Bryan Hekemian, principal of Hekemian & Co. “Hackensack offers the perfect blend of New York City accessibility with dedicated space within and outside your home to get work done.”
In a news release, Hekemian & Co. said amenities include a modern fitness center and outdoor recreation options such as grills, a fire pit with fireside seating and a pool, along with a clubroom with gaming tables and a pet spa and dog play area. The firm also touted the site’s location a half-block from Main Street, where a series of beautification and infrastructure improvements are slated for completion this year, helping to highlight the city’s wealth of dining and cultural amenities.
“The Current on River physically embodies the spirit of Hackensack’s revitalization, while paying attention to every detail from corner to corner,” Hekemian said.
