New Jersey Future has unveiled the winners of this year’s Smart Growth Awards, highlighting projects from Paterson to Westfield with a major focus on planning and redevelopment.
The Trenton-based organization, which has strong ties to the commercial real estate sector, will honor seven projects at its Smart Growth Awards Celebration on Oct. 3 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. The 2023 winners and their participants include:

“The Smart Growth Awards recognizes the latest and greatest in planning, development and redevelopment in the Garden State,” New Jersey Future said in its announcement. “This year, we are honoring seven incredible winning projects for their groundbreaking contributions to making New Jersey communities sustainable and strong.”
The Trenton-based nonprofit also plans to announce next week the winners of this year’s Cary Edwards Leadership Award and the inaugural Redevelopment Trailblazer Award. Meantime, it noted that the awards program will be held in person for the first time since 2019.
