Hornrock Properties has taken the wraps off another 168 luxury apartments in Hackensack, the second piece of its popular Ivy and Green project on the city’s eastern edge.
The developer on Wednesday said leasing is underway at the new phase, which sits at 1 Park Ave. alongside the initial 221 units that debuted last year. Renters have already reserved more than 30 percent of the studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes at the second building, thanks in part to its location bordering Foschini Park and Hackensack’s burgeoning downtown, with The Marketing Directors once again spearheading the leasing program.
Monthly rents at the property, designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, start from $2,215 with incentives.
“We are thrilled to build upon the success of Ivy and Green, extending the opportunity for more renters to experience elevated apartment living in the heart of downtown Hackensack,” said David Hornblass, a principal of Hornrock Properties. “This development has consistently delivered the kind of homes and amenities sought by today’s renters, all within a walkable environment reminiscent of areas like Hoboken, yet with more space and less congestion. It’s a winning formula that has resonated with renters, and we look forward to welcoming more residents to the community.”
According to a news release, the new six-story building has a lobby with a freestanding fireplace, comfortable seating and work areas, while residents have access to a café, a resident lounge, a conference room and a modern fitness center with an Echelon spin bike and CrossFit rig.
Outside, Ivy and Green has two open courtyards with fire pits and fireplaces, sun loungers, grills and outdoor dining spaces. Those amenities complement the 35,000 square feet of social spaces spread throughout the first phase, including a resort-style pool and sundeck, along with a pizza oven, ping pong, foosball and a life-sized chess board, among other offerings.
The initial building also has a speakeasy with a bar and fireplace, a demonstration kitchen and dining room, a billiard and game room and others, the news release said.
Hornrock’s development, which has repurposed a parking lot near the Hackensack River waterfront, has attracted renters with its location near NJ Transit bus and train service and access to highways such as Interstate 80 and Route 4. It’s also steps from downtown Hackensack and a business district filled with shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
