JMF Properties has taken the wraps off a new 110-unit luxury apartment building in Glen Ridge, seeking to lure renters with a location near commuter rail service and downtown Montclair.
Located at 275 Baldwin St., just east of the Montclair border, the property known as Clarus Glen Ridge is already nearly 50 percent leased after a recent preview period. Residents are a short walk from NJ Transit’s Bay Street station and have access to a host of on-site amenities, which the developer says are similar to those found in another recent project.
“Clarus Glen Ridge builds on the tremendous popularity of our first ‘Clarus’ community, Clarus Maplewood, but on a grander scale with more amenities and luxuries,” said Joe Forgione, JMF’s founder and principal. “We designed this community to offer residents a complete lifestyle package, and the opportunity to take advantage of everything Glen Ridge and Montclair offers. The result is a product that brings a new housing type to the area and sets a new standard for luxury living, one that we are thrilled to showcase to prospective renters now that the community is officially open.”

Monthly rents at Clarus Glen Ridge, a collection of one- and two-bedroom homes, start from $2,595 with grand opening incentives, according to a news release. Amenities at the site include a wellness center with high-end exercise equipment with touch consoles, cycling, TRX suspension training, a heavy bag and kettlebells, among other offerings, while a separate personal training studio gives residents access to Echelon Reflect Touch touchscreens with both live streaming and on-demand training classes.
Other offerings include a central lobby and lounge, a parlor with a gas fireplace and wet bar, a business center and a billiards room, the news release said. Residents, meantime, will have access to on-site covered parking, car-charging stations, storage lockers, bike storage and other services.
The site is a short walk from downtown Montclair and all that it has to offer, such as restaurants, shops and cultural attractions, as well as Glen Ridge’s own neighborhood businesses.
“Clarus Glen Ridge residents can walk to the many restaurants, parks and cultural attractions that downtown Montclair is known for, but when they return home, they are in a quiet, relaxed suburban neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle,” Forgione said. “It really is the best of both worlds.”
