A new children’s salon has arrived in Ocean County after a 1,000-square-foot lease at a Toms River shopping center, according to a brokerage team with Katz & Associates.
The operator, Kuts 4 Kids In The Kingdom, opened its doors in late August at 1810 Hooper Ave. with a concept that offers parties for children offering novelty spa services, kids haircuts and fairy hair. It’s now looking for additional locations with the help of Katz broker Amy Staats, who represented the independently owned business in its initial lease.
In announcing the deal, the firm noted that proprietor Lisa Valentin previously owned and operated salons in Toms River, Forked River and Point Pleasant in the late 1990s before moving to Florida, where she opened a kids-focused salon near Walt Disney World Resort. She and her husband moved back to Toms River with the idea of opening Kuts 4 Kids, setting off an extensive search in and around the township.
“We worked tirelessly for a year to find the right location,” Staats said, noting that her client had offers on spaces where, in some cases, they waited for more than six months for a response from the owner. “When the opportunity came about at 1810 Hooper, we jumped through hoops. The location was ideal and since it was a former salon that had the infrastructure in place, it made the negotiation extremely easy. Owner was a gem to work with and given Lisa’s prior experience running salons made this a seamless experience start to finish.”
