Based in North Brunswick, the full-service engineering firm offers seminars and webinars throughout year — with topics ranging from reading blueprints to drone inspections to picking the right contractor. The hour-long programs typically attract dozens of property managers, building owners and other professionals.
“We have found that many managers and owners do not typically understand how a building works, how it should be monitored on an ongoing basis and what to do when a component such as a roof or parking lot require replacement,” said Mitchell H. Frumkin, president of Kipcon Engineering. “The education of managers for things like this are typically not a part of an educational curriculum at universities and is very much needed.”
Frumkin said his firm initially offered seminars on a sporadic basis a few a years ago, but created a formal year-long schedule after seeing a great response. The classes typically consist of a simultaneous seminar and webinar, with five to 10 people attending in person and 40 to 70 online.
This year’s schedule includes a dozen classes that each run from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. As Frumkin notes, the subject matter has to do with existing buildings and the adjacent site-related amenities.
Kipcon plans to continue to grow its offerings in the future, with plans including additional topics and seminars at management offices and other businesses, if requested.
“I am a strong believer that sharing your knowledge is the best form of marketing and value to your clients,” said Frumkin, who founded Kipcon in 1983.
