Kokes Properties is taking steps to further strengthen its ties to the Burlington County township of Riverside, the site of its new multifamily development, including participation in an annual community day organized by local officials.
Its team at the property, The Mill at Riverside, recently supported the municipality’s Day of Progress with a donation to help defray some of the event costs, according to a news release. Representatives also volunteered at the late September event, which included exhibitions hosted by groups such as the police department, the new Tapestry Community Center and several craft vendors, along with food trucks and rides available for youth attendees.
“We love being a part of the Riverside community,” said Yesenia Borrero, community manager at The Mill. “I’m really proud to have participated in today’s event. Fostering meaningful relationships within the Riverside community is incredibly important and fulfilling to all of us at Kokes Properties. We pride ourselves on being responsible corporate citizens, and we look forward to engaging with other stakeholders in town to make this event a staple of Riverside tradition for many years to come!”
Kokes Properties recently broke ground on another 40 apartments at The Mill, located along South Fairview Street in the township, marking the final piece of the first phase at the project. The property is already home to 86 units, including 22 townhomes and a 64-unit apartment building as part of a plan to revitalize the historic Taubel’s Mill property about a mile and a half from Route 130.
At full build-out, the site will include 190 homes. Residents are now living at the property.
“We are so pleased with the overall success of Community Day,” said Michelle Weaver, a Riverside township committee member and the primary planner of the event. “With the pandemic canceling public events, our goal was to bring big town events to our small town that we can proudly invite other local families to experience. The ultimate goal was to bring the community together for family fun, provide local resources and support small businesses.
“The day provided a memorable experience for our residents as well as visitors from the surrounding areas to see our growing downtown and everything Riverside has to offer. We surpassed our expected attendance, and I cannot express how grateful I am to the several volunteers that helped make this day a success. I hope to see it continue and grow better year after year.”
