A major New Jersey law firm is moving its headquarters to Paramus, under a newly announced, 42,000-square-foot lease arranged by JLL.
Brokers with the firm represented DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin LLP in the transaction at 61 South Paramus Road. The practice will occupy most of the second floor of the 286,126-square-foot office building, which is owned by Onyx Equities LLC and Garrison Investment Group.
The JLL team included Frank D. Recine, executive managing director, and Associate Nicolas DeCotiis. Adam Karafiol, Onyx’s senior vice president of leasing, represented ownership.
“DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, a preeminent New Jersey-based law firm, went through a detailed internal evaluation in order to capture the partnerships’ vision of the future direction of the firm,” Recine said. “Recognizing the work environment is ever evolving, the partners have continued to reinvest in the firm and this large headquarters relocation demonstrates their commitment to their clients, partners and the state of New Jersey.”
DeCotiis, which is relocating from Glenpointe Centre West in Teaneck, has signed an 11-year lease at the Paramus building. The moves comes amid an ongoing multimillion-dollar upgrade by Onyx and Garrison, which acquired the property in 2017 from Mack-Cali Realty Corp.
“The firm found 61 South Paramus Road to be an ideal location for its new headquarters space,” Nicolas DeCotiis said. “The office building is centrally located with conveniently easy access to three major New Jersey highways, offering easy access for its clients and employees. The law firm was also attracted by ownership’s imminent plans to upgrade the property with new amenities and services.”
The law firm’s new home benefits from a location at the confluence of routes 4 and 17 and the Garden State Parkway. The property is 20 miles from Midtown Manhattan and is surrounded by the region’s well-known mix of retail and restaurant options.
