Activist investor Jonathan Litt has resigned as a director of Mack-Cali Realty Corp., the Jersey City-based real estate investment trust announced this week.
In a brief statement Monday, Mack-Cali said Litt’s resignation from the board was effective Aug. 18. The announcement said his departure “is not related to any disagreement with the company’s operations, policies or practices.”
“We thank Jonathan for his two plus years of service to the company,” Michael J. DeMarco, Mack-Cali’s president, said in a prepared statement. “During his tenure with Mack-Cali, the board of directors helped create and guide a new executive leadership team and formulate our new three-year strategic plan.”
Litt, the founder and chief investment officer of the hedge fund Land and Buildings, joined the Mack-Cali board in 2014.
