A new neighborhood retail center is set to rise in one of Union’s main thoroughfares, according to executives with Levin Management Corp. who are overseeing the project.
The project’s developer has hired LMC to oversee the construction, lease-up and management of the 19,500-square-foot property at 2332 Morris Ave., the firm announced. Its efforts will include constructing the new site improvements and retail buildings, which were approved earlier this year, at the busy, signalized intersection with Rahway Avenue.
LMC is also marketing in-line spaces ranging from 1,200 square feet to 9,500 square feet, along with a 2,240-square-foot end cap with street visibility. Leasing representatives Andrea Kyriacou and E.J. Moawad are heading the assignment.
“LMC has extensive experience and a proven track record for successfully tenanting new shopping center space,” said Joseph Lowry, LMC’s senior vice president of leasing and acquisitions. “The Morris Avenue property’s ownership recognizes the value our company brings to this type of management-intensive assignment.
“We look forward to revitalizing and leasing this commercial property, which formerly housed an auto repair shop and several small, non-retail businesses.”
LMC, a North Plainfield-based firm, said the property will serve a growing residential population in the area. Nearby retailers include Aldi, CVS, Dollar Tree and Club Metro USA, among others.
“We anticipate a great deal of interest in the new shopping center due to the area’s superb retail market demographics, and the property’s excellent visibility and location,” Lowry said. “It will be a great fit for a variety of retailers. For example, a bank and service-oriented tenants would do particularly well there.”
