An Afghan and Middle Eastern restaurant business is set to expand into Somerset County, following a commitment to a 266,000-square-foot shopping center in Franklin Township.
Levin Management Corp., the leasing agent for Rutgers Plaza, said Thursday that
Flame Kabob House leased 1,500 square feet at the complex. The new location at Easton Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard represents the second New Jersey restaurant for the concept, which has its other restaurant in Neptune City.
“Rutgers Plaza’s proximity to Rutgers University, a diverse and growing local population and the presence of strong anchor tenants make it a great location for Flame Kabob House,” said Jordan Korris, LMC leasing representative, who arranged the long-term lease. “In turn, high-quality fast-casual dining options are welcome additions to any shopping center, and Flame Kabob House is no exception.”
Flame Kabob House provides a full menu of affordably priced authentic Afghan and Middle Eastern food, along with a variety of other choices, including burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads and more, LMC said in a news release. Its new home is anchored by Stop & Shop and Kmart, with LMC noting that the eatery it will join other tenants such as Crunch Fitness, Dollar Tree and GNC.
LMC also noted that another ethnic restaurant, Moral’s Village Hot Pot, is set to open soon at Rutgers Plaza.
