Tropical Smoothie Café has taken 1,700 square feet for a new location along Route 1 in Middlesex County, according to a leasing team with Levin Management Corp.
In a news release, LMC said it represented ownership in the deal at the Brunswick Shopping Center on Milltown Road in North Brunswick. The store at the 288,396-square-foot property will be among more than 1,400 U.S. locations for the 17-year-old fast casual chain, operating alongside anchors LA Fitness and Lidl and several other tenants.
LMC Senior Leasing Representative Jennifer Harrison and Leasing Representative Fred Younkin brokered the deal alongside tenant brokers Sean Pyle and Dina Santarelli of SABRE.
“With the growing interest in healthy diets among many consumers, Tropical Smoothie Café adds another great option to the food offerings at Brunswick Shopping Center,” Harrison said, adding that the property also includes McDonald’s, Kanoon Restaurant, Rita’s Italian Ice and a bagel shop. “Tropical Smoothie Café is a leader in its segment, and we are pleased to bring this nationally recognized concept to the community.”
Aside from fresh, made-to-order smoothies, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has menu offerings such as acai, chia and yogurt bowls along with wraps, salads, sandwiches and flatbreads, the news release said. Its new location is in the heart of North Brunswick’s retail corridor, which LMC said draws 2.6 million visitors per year, according to real-time traffic data from Placer.ai.
Other tenants include Dollar Tree, Sherwin Williams, Magyar Bank, Community Dental, Roma Unisex Salon, Sally Beauty and H&R Block, the firm added. The center serves a residential population of more than 283,000 within a five-mile radius and is minutes from Rutgers and DeVry universities.
