A developer is offering the first opportunity to lease an apartment at a new 377-unit complex in Jersey City, marking the next step in a major redevelopment near the Hoboken border.
The firm, Manhattan Building Co., announced the start of preleasing at the industrial-inspired development known as SoHo West. The community is set to debut next month, offering loft-style apartments with high-end amenities.
City Homes and Gardens is overseeing leasing and marketing for the apartments at 273 16th St., which are housed in separate 13-story and 20-story buildings connected by a five-story podium. With a mix of floorplans ranging from one- to four-bedroom units, as well as private townhome rentals, rents begin in the $2,000s, while residences will range from 622 square feet to more than 3,397 square feet.
The complex sits just a block away from the Cast Iron Lofts Collection, the 387-unit first phase of Manhattan Building Co.’s larger SoHo West neighborhood concept. The complex is complete and occupied, including 20,000 square feet of retail space leased to a Pilates and yoga studio, a preschool, a coffee shop and The Art House, a nonprofit that will include a 99-seat black box theater.
“We’re quickly transforming the final stretch of Jersey Avenue leading into Hoboken into a vibrant, urban lifestyle experience that blends new and stylish apartment homes with exciting amenities and desired shops and retail,” said Louis Mont, chief operating officer of Hoboken-based Manhattan Building Co. “The creation of the SoHo West has been incredibly well-received as evidenced by the high leasing velocity we experienced in phase one.
“We’re thrilled to now bring to market the next offering of residences which will add a brand new signature mixed-use building with enhanced recreational options and social interaction to the neighborhood.”
Apartments at SoHo West feature 10-foot ceilings and high-end finishes, the firm said in a news release. Amenities include an Infinity edge pool, private cabanas, surround sound media room, Zen garden, club room and others.
