Construction is underway on a new ground-up retail center in Wayne that will bring a mix of eateries and services to one of the township’s busiest shopping corridors.
Its developer, March Construction, recently broke ground at 1591-1593 Alps Road with a host of leases already signed for what’s known as The Yard. They include Crumbl Cookies, European Wax Center, GNC Live Well, OHM Fitness and Nekter Juice Bar.
“We’re very excited to bring another great shopping destination to our hometown of Wayne,” said Bryan Murray, director of development with March Construction. “We have a great tenant lineup that will provide goods and services to the community, and we are looking forward to a spring ’24 grand opening.”
The 10,500-square-foot project is a mile west of The Parke at Hamburg, which March also developed, activating a long-vacant parcel on Hamburg Turnpike. Completed in 2020, the property is home to tenants such as Trader Joe’s, Ulta Beauty and Panera Bread.
The firm’s Patrick Heaney, a project manager, is overseeing construction of The Yard, according to March. R.J. Brunelli & Co. LLC and The Dietz Partnership are the project’s broker and architect, respectively, while the team also includes Bohler’s James Thaon and Daniel Reeves.
Kearny Bank provided financing, which was arranged by G.S. Wilcox & Co.
