Candy giant Mars has unveiled its newly renovated, 16,000-square-foot innovation hub in Hackettstown, following a project spearheaded by Stone Creek Construction Group.
According to Michael Bruno, president of Matawan-based Stone Creek, the firm served as both general contractor and construction manager for the project at Mars’ historic complex off Route 517. That work entailed an interior renovation of the company’s national office, including a new prototyping kitchen, dynamic packaging lab and Mars-themed collaboration spaces, as it looks to support innovation and increase speed to market for a portfolio that includes brands such as M&M’s, Snicker’s, Pedigree, Pedigree and Ben’s Original.
The Mars Industries Research and Development Innovation Studio was among three projects that Stone Creek completed during the first quarter of 2024, according to a news release. The second was Volvo Cars USA’s corporate headquarters in Mahwah, where the construction firm led the interior renovation of public spaces such as the lobby and employee-centric workspaces and conference rooms, while enhancing an existing cafeteria with the addition of a barista bar and pantry.
In the Kenvil section of Roxbury, Stone Creek completed a newly updated, 8,500-square-foot facility for Merry Heart Senior Care. The firm noted that the building received a comprehensive makeover including new mechanical systems, structural footings and plumbing, supporting a space that will provide dementia care services.
