OUR ADVANTAGE
MEA has earned a solid reputation as a civil engineering and landscape architecture firm with recognized results through our collaborative team approach. The single greatest factor for a client to choose MEA over our competitors is our goal of creating not just a business relationship with our clients, but developing a bond, where our clients comfortably reach out directly to our management team. We achieve our clients’ project objectives effectively and efficiently, while seeking out new ideas and more constructive methods to ensure functional solutions for our clients.
ON THE HORIZON
The demand for logistic centers and general warehousing continues to remain high for redevelopment and geographically underdeveloped areas. Mixed-use redevelopment design also remains strong, as the younger generations seek multipurpose and walkable settings. We expect boutique retail spaces, with outdoor amenities within these mixed-use developments, to continue to reclaim underproductive retail and urban areas across New Jersey.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Large-scale development opportunities in New Jersey are increasingly difficult to ascertain. Hartz Mountain Industries Inc., however, sought out an opportunity in obtaining the former Ford Motor Company Edison Assembly plant site. Their vision of converting the brownfield site to an active center continues to adapt to a changing market. The original vision encompassed a lifestyle retail center with pad sites surrounding a center square. Today, those individual sites within Edison Towne Square are progressing into active recreation facilities and eateries. Sports facilities, such as Top Golf, LA Fitness and Supercharged Social, are filling the retail market voids, and eateries, such as Tommy’s Tavern + Tap, are taking advantage of the opportunity to locate within the entertainment center. Tommy’s Tavern + Tap smartly scooped up a highly visible dedicated pad site at the main entrance of Edison Towne Square along US Route 1 in Edison, New Jersey. The 14,163-square-foot restaurant includes both indoor and outdoor dining experiences along with an outdoor rooftop bar. MEA’s contribution to the project included full civil engineering along with our landscape architectural services. MEA continues to assist Hartz Mountain in creating a unique atmosphere for the former industrial property.
