A technology firm for logistics users has acquired a nearly 42,000-square-foot industrial building in Middlesex County, under a newly announced transaction by Bussel Realty Corp.

The buyer, MobileSTAR, paid $6.4 million for the property at 230 Liberty St. in Metuchen. BRC represented the undisclosed seller in the deal, noting that the building’s new owner will use it to support its growing e-commerce, electronics and consumer goods clientele.

“Through extensive marketing efforts — after deals fell through during March (and) April at the beginning of the COVID pandemic — the Metz team continued showings remotely with drone and virtual tours and were able to secure a buyer by June,” said Jordan Metz, a senior vice president with BRC. He completed the assignment alongside Eric Koons, a sales associate, and Wellern Yu, a marketing and sales assistant.

The firm noted that 230 Liberty, which spans 41,500 square feet, is located near Interstate 287 with access to the New Jersey Turnpike. The property features 20-foot ceiling heights, a 5,000-square-foot office, five loading doors and 40 parking spaces. It’s also minutes from downtown Metuchen and NJ Transit rail service to New York Penn Station.

MobileSTAR provides a platform that manages the last-mile delivery experience for shippers and carriers, BRC said.
